Scout & Guide Groups
The Scout & Guide Group is the worlds greatest and most progressive youth movement and is actively represented in the village by the 1st St Anne’s Sutton Bonington Scout and Guide Group. The group are based at purpose built facilities on the village recreation ground and provide a range of activities for boys and girls from the age of 6 –18 years. For young people 14 years and over we also provide the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The group is run entirely by volunteers who either have direct involvement through a leadership role or provide support and fund raising via the Group Council. If you are interested in contributing to the continued success of the group please make contact with the Group Chairman. The group has an extensive range of tents and equipment that can be lent out for social / community events. All Groups meet at the Scout & Guide Headquarters, Recreation Ground, Main St, Sutton Bonington

Tennis Club

Sutton Bonington & District

Situated at the top of Marle Pit Hill, close to the University campus. We are a thriving and friendly club who are always seeking new members, with players of all standards welcome. There are four floodlit all-weather courts, enabling play to continue throughout the year, and we have a super club house built in 1998.

There is both friendly club play and team tennis, with teams consisting of Mens, Ladies and Mixed Doubles, competing in the county league. Club play takes place twice a week in both Summer and Winter seasons, with members free to use the courts at other times for personal play or practice. Qualified coaching is available on an individual or group basis and there are regular Junior group coaching sessions which are particularly popular.
